Ashkan Ghadimkhani A.K.A. Ashkan GH is a digital artist and sound designer based in Tehran, Iran with
background of art and technology focusing on relations between urbanization and its effects on conscious and
subconscious, how people affect their surroundings and environment, showing these by creating interactive
installations that the audience often face a symmetric and utterly regular system which the interaction disturbs it
and making chaos. Due to the passion of film-making and cinema from childhood he often tries to visual
program and collaging his own shots and films in vague and distorted way, the result would be a dream-like
glitch visuals.
The latest project “.PWT” Audio Visual performance was first performed on ٨th December during TCS
Festival, Post war trauma is not only for the soldiers fighting the battles, it’s also for the people involved
unintentionally living in those lands, people trying to rebuild after everything is destroyed. “.PWT” is about wars all
around the globe specifically middle-east but it’s more about people, their connections to their lands, beliefs and
war. Sound designs of the performance consists of soundscapes, field recordings and radio from the war
between Iran and Iraq which began in 1980, and Tehrans present field recordings. The performance is a hazy
experience of a war after the destruction and all the pain.
